A very historical two volume set written by Rear Admiral John Grimes Walker detailing research into a practical route from the Atlantic to the Pacific. Text and tables volume with uncolored plates, folding maps and charts. 502 pages. Atlas volume in slipcase contains seven large folding maps in 31 large sheets and 6 folded geological profiles. All with embossed stamp of Colorado College. Many maps in color. Both volumes are not often offered together.
