An scarce and interesting map of the Americas with coastlines engraved to show the European spheres of influence. Being French, Briet shows the entire eastern coastline from Chesapeake Bay northward to be claimed by France and the only British claim is in Virginia. California is shown as an Island. There are no Great Lakes or other details in the interior. Title enclosed in a decorative cartouche.
